Shield Types

Post by Melkor »

Is there a way to combine the qualities of a normal shield and a capacitor shield? What I'm looking for is a shield that will deflect a percentage of damage equal to its capacitor's percentage of charge, so if the shield is at full power, it deflects 100% of incoming damage, but that damage is drained from the capacitor, thus reducing its effectiveness. If it's at 50%, it deflects 50% of the incoming damage, which would then be subtracted from the capacitor (hopefully that makes sense). This way, larger shield capacity means the shield will hold out longer, but won't prevent 100% damage the entire time. I've tried the shield_curve parameter, but with capacitor shields it doesn't seem to work the way I want it too.

Got it: had to use shield_factor in conjunction with shield_curve...
