Armchair General Magazine is the easy choice (or at least the one I would mention).

And they have a forum, which is linked with a good wargaming forum community.

So you get it all, the magazine, the online presence, and the fact it is clearly a gaming magazine aimed at serious wargamers.

"War in History" is a good place to find academic articles on Military History.

There are several publications by Primedia, that are fairly good.

World War 2 History

Civil War History

Military History (much more general, includes articles from Antiquity to Persian Gulf)

They offer subscriptions for about $20 US per year.

I like Strategy & Tactics http://www.decisiongames.com/mags/st.htm.

Good articles. Comes w/ a boardgame. Six issues a year. A little expensive. (Less if you don't get the game.)
