Vertical fighter launch

I've run across an issue that I cannot find addressed here (unless it appeared under a different posting...)

I am trying to get my fighter to launch from a carrier that punches them out straight down (nose down). I have added the azimuth and elevation settings to my launch bay and while the azimuth works, the elevation does not. Additionally, the fighter shoots out horizontally and then travels to the end point designated in the bay parameters. Also, when placed on alert, it orients correctly horizontally (but not vertically) however, when given a launch command, it instantly reverts to straight ahead and then rotates back out prior to launch.

How do I get the silly fighter to point down, stay that way and then launch down?
