starshatter game save problem

starshatter game save problem

ive just started the game and im only on the operation highland campagain but when i save the game saves fine but my pilot dosent get saved... for instance i saved the game on day 7 or somthing i had 3000 some mission points and got promoted to a lieutenant and the mission saved fine...but when i went to play later the mission was there but my pilot was back down to a cadet and had 0 mission points.... ...has anyone else had this problem???
