Lord QDaan: Good news servers go up to 180 days in text groups, 35 I think is the max for most binaries. Most people who commonly download from Usenet have access to at least a moderately good server, which usually go up to a week or two. In my experience, that's better than most torrents :)

I just bought Starshatter and I really would like to get this. It looks awesome. I even went to the newsgroup but couldn't find it. I have no idea how .nzb files work. Hopefully someone will put it into a zip format or something. Until then I look forward to trying it.

Rebuiding my server right now. I have a B5 forum up at forums.b5sc.com. I will be loading it on the server on Thursday. Have to build a Starshatter MODs webpage and links.

How does magic export?

If you guys like this mod, your gonna love the Dilgar War

All the ships in that mod are being done from scratch, no ship is going over 2500 polys no matter what, and they all have spec(and bump just in case) maps made for them, unlike the current mod that I had to really fake a lot of them.

You have to download a program called BitTorrent, run it. Then download the file and click on it in your computer. BitTorrent should startup and start downloading it immediatly.

Okay..I have a question. I downloaded a Folder called Babylon5Holdtheline. It is a file folder not a zip folder and it is full of files named mod.100 etc. This does not unzip (I have winzip). Placing the folder in my Shatterstar folder doesn't do any good. What do I do with this file?

Also, what do the "HuD" files do?

The files are compressed using the .ace file format (there should be a file titled Mods.ace). It can be uncompressed using programs such as:

Winace - http://www.winace.com/
Winrar - http://www.rarlab.com/

I personally use winrar as it handles most common compression formats pretty well, and I like the interface better than winace, but thats just a personal preference. You can use any program that will decompress .ace files.

As for the HuD files.
I dont remeber seeing those, so i have no idea.

the hud files and music were put in the addon you need to download that I Belive, I"m Not SURE but I think thats where they are

hud and music go in the ROOT ss directory, remember to backup milos music or it will overwrite it

the hud is so far the only part of the compressed dat(other then drive flairs) I have figured out, and we wont even go into the weeks of guessing it took me to get those to work

as for drives, I know the file names, and the directory name, but any attempt to create my own drive flairs and trails is a horrible disaster compared to milos, so I kind of gave up until a lot more info is released.

Hey Damo, I just realized what it was that was irking me about the hyperion. The lines describing armor plate edges are really dark. They don't really look right, and I don't think they looked quite like that in the show.

Now, consider that this is the one thing that bugs me so far...

its nothing like the show at all

i started fcking around with new texture methods around the time I did the hyperion, you can see the results in the dilgar fighters

the hyperion will get some refinment in the dilgar mod... the textures do need soem work, lighten those lines a bit and tweak the overall "paint weather" effect
