On two occasions when trying to save the game during an orders phase, the Main Menu screen has popped up as normal but nothing is clickable on it. There is no way to then subsequently remove the Main Menu either, making resumption of the game impossible and only resolvable by an ALT+Tab+Delete out of the game.

The scroll arrows to the right of the Message Box on the HUD are clickable and functionable underneath this menu as are the "H" and "S" buttons on the Mini Map. So we are not talking about a complete game freeze here. Just the inability to remove the Main Menu or do anything on it and therefore continue with play of the game.
