What Happens if Ship Misses Upgrade Date?

Post by Dereck »

What will happen if a ship misses it's upgrade date? Will it upgrade at the next available port that will allow ship upgrades or will it just never upgrade again?

The next time it goes to a port with a repair yard (and is marked Yes for upgrades) it will upgrade. The date is a marker, nothing more.. At that date or anytime afterwards a ship will upgrade.

Just before you ask the follow on question [;)]

Yes, you can miss mutiple upgrades and they *all* will happen when you show up in a port.

It doesnt sequentially do the upgrades, damageing the ship and preventing the next upgrade till repairs are done?

Kinda makes you do the refits. None of this I liked it better the old way. Maybe Argonaut, but she will remain without radar the entire war if left as a minelayer.

Port next day with new configuration but with system damage tacked on. Would have been cool if the system damage were added on, then when the ship reached %5 damage, the weapons change.

That's a good idea. Even better, let's have the damage added on and all of the ship's weapons disabled. Then, when it gets down to 5% SYS, the weapons get upgraded and can be repaired.
