RE: Multiplayer support

Post by DamoclesX »

I was going to put up a 24/7 server, but the problem is I dont have a 3rd computer sitting around just yet that could do it... the next system I have is a p350.. with like.... 32 megs of ram.. its a pos that wont pull it.....

my 550 is basically a video server that I use to power the projector for movies and for downloads/uploads/file storage

and my main rigs, 3gp4.. well, I dont leave it on unless i"m using it, dont want to risk something going wrong with this baby

once I get on my work term I"m gonna buy a dedicated server system, probably something like an amd barton 2500 or something, just with loads of ram

Dear Milo,

Thanks for caring. Perhaps the problem is with my computer (wich would be odd since it is brand new)...[:)]
Since I've bought it and installed it I have never seen such a server list.
Also, when hosting a game other people don't seem to find my game and I can't find theirs.
There is obviously a problem there.
I add that this doesn't happen with other multiplayer games such as fighters anthology, Civilisation and other titles. Even Microsoft's online card games work...
Please give me a hand on this!!!
I have over 100 missions flown and not a single one is online!!![:(]

Thanks in advance,

Mario

How do you find your computer's game and admin ports, please?
IP is easy to find, but I have no clue as where can I find the gameport and admin port numbers... [:'(]

Thanks in advance,

I have something to say, my little children...[:-]
... I have seen the light! [:D]
Mack, your server looks fine! I even got in and positioned myself as host! [;)]
Please check the pic below...
It was obviously a firewall issue...

Congrats.... You got in!!!
I am curious as to that error message on the motd screen section. What version are you running because I do have the Babylon 5 mod installed on my pc but it doesnt show it on the mod screen under the options section and I am not running the server with that -file tag on the execute line which is how you would fire up the B5 mod.

I will be leaving it up for a few days more so we can tweak any probs then I think I will run it up from Friday to Sunday's. My kids and I are looking for some fresh meat in the fighter thrash pit!!!

Star Wars mod from Melkor...

... was in and that's why I got the error message. Once I have removed, rebooted the game and reconnected to your server I had a different welcome message with your favorite games and so on.
Thanks for bringing us a place to play Mack! [&o]
