demo compared to release

I've just got the demo and was wondering if the released game is much different from the demo.

Gameplay-wise? Its fairly similar. I dont think there was any re-balancing going from 3.9 (the demo) to 4.0.3 (the current release version). Of course in the retail version you have access to more fighters (IIRC you can only fly the Stormhawk in the demo).

Otherwise, there are some significant bug fixes and the addition of some spiffy graphical effect (spec maps? I'm blanking atm) and all-around polishing.

There's a ton of mod potential in SS. I dont know if you've seen any of Damo's B5 mod, its freakin' incredible. There's a Star Wars mod and possibly a Star Trek mod starting up.

I would say (totally biased, of course) that your $40US is much better spent on SS than on many other new games. Especially since there has been minimal action on the hardcore sim/sci-fi sim front lately. And you'd be supporting a totally cool indie-developer and not some huge multi-national conglomeration [:)]

I realy like the demo and I think I'm gonna get the retail..

I recently bought StarWars Battlefront but it was kind of a let down.. Seems like your too boxed into a small arena.
