Mega Campaign SE not changing turns

I have this problem where whenever I play I try and save, it says it saves automatically. OK then when i load up the game if i try and load the game whenever i try and quit my turn it clicks back to the load screen and it continously goes back to the same spot! any help would be appreciated.

Firstly, when you exit the game, the game saves your turn automatically. Unfortunately the game does not generate a new saved file that corresponds to the turn that is saved. It overwrites the previously saved turn. This is designed to stop you cheating against yourself [&:] and is in my opinion a most ridiculous feature of the mega campaign.

That aside, you need to end the game by clicking on the button shown....

Then, you will be prompted to confirm this. Type 'y' to end the turn and autosave.

And you MUST stick to this procedure! Any other quitting of the game incl CTRL-ALT-DEL and hard resets kill your save game!
