Thats normal ... it is expected that he is lost at PI ... hence he is already at SWPAC

It's just a matter of relieving him of command before the fall of PHI, so he won't die, right?

I always thought it was due to SW Pac already had him as leader from the start, and for some reason SW Pac needs to be in game on Dec 7.

If SW Pac HQ could come as a reinforcement, that would be avoided.

They give out MOH's too bloody often in my opinion. All medals for that matter. American officers look like bloody Banana Republic Generalissimos these days. Ever take a look at a Commonwealth equivalent? Alot less medals. Hardware and ribbons are not given out for such sundry things as "having successfully mastered the skill of boot lacing" or some such.

Do you know how hard boot lancing is? I tried it, and lost an eye. I deserve the Silver Star. [:D][:D][:D]

Truthfully, I agree wholeheartedly.

You can get one in almost any fountain in DC. Just ask Kerry where his medals are.

Those weren't his. Those were someone's he "borrowed". His medals were too good to throw away, and are in his office.

Too bad we can't lose Doug in the Phillipines......in the Army we call that promotion potential for us underlings!

General Douglas MacArthur always does a fantastic job with my troops no matter where I place him.
Attu Alaska or Christmas/Palmrya/Vanatu island.
I would station MacArthur in Louisiana as the Latrine battalion CO if I could find Louisiana on the Witp map. If you are from Louisiana I ment no offense, I just needed a place where mosquitos outnumber humans[;)]
My e-troops don't unload OVER THE BEACH anymore, see:
Amphibious Assault at Kota Bharu
TF 85 troops securing a beachhead at Kota Bharu, 51,75
whew! I still feel better.

LOL, I thought you were referencing part of George C. Scott's speech from Patton:

"So, when you have your grandson on your knee, and he asks you what you did in the great World War II, you won't have to say "Well, I shoveled s*** in Louisiana."

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't really like MacArthur - I thought it was just my Navy background rearing it's ugly head [:D]
