By the way, I invite all of you to visit factcheck.org to see how blatantly preposterous both sides' claims are. As best I can tell, the site appears to be fairly neutral - it calls them both liars.

Call me optimist, but I never believed more than 50% of what any of these guys say. It's preposterous how the populace just believes in everything they hear from their predilete left-wing or right-wing TV channel.

Someone once said that "the bigger the lie, the easier to convince the population". Don't remember who that was; perhaps Hitler.

I'll be voting against the candidate I consider the greater of two evils and hoping the damage isn't too great by the time 2008 rolls around.

I've been doing that for the last thirty years
Is this supposed to be a good example of American style democracy we are trying to export to other regions of the world? Who would want it?

I wonder what our constitution would like if the founding fathers had a chance see some of the crap that’s going on now.

Oh well way to many brave men in our past fought and died to get us here, the least I can do is my best to hand this great experiment onto the next generation

I agree. I tend to listen to conservative talk shows and watch liberalist news shows, and I take what both groups say and claim with a grain of salt. What tickes me off is when you have people that watch Michael Moore's "Farenheit 9/11", and like zombies beilive everything in it without question, or those who watch Dick Morris' "FarenHype 9/11" and belive it like zombies too. It is those people, who believe anything that people tell them, who will kill democracy. Basically, take what the conservatives say, what the liberals say, and the truth is (hopefully) in between.

Did anyone hear Kerry's speech in Wisconsin the other day, when he was exhorting the crowd to go out and start asking people about who they were voting for and such? Like there is ANYTHING that we haven't heard 50 million times in the last year?

If someone walked up to me on the street and wanted to buttonhole me on one of the campaigns, I would tell them to go take a flying leap!

Hi.

Sorry I drew you in. But reading some of the other posts was kind of amazing, so it's nice to have positive proof that not only one political spectrum is present around here. Thanks!!!

Interesting post, and factcheck.org is a good link. [:)]

By the way, isn't holding back the patch against US law? Disabling pursuit of happiness?

No, withholding the patch is more like "cruel and unusual punishment".

Inciting public unrest? Turning wargamers into political warmongers? Blocking access to Nirvana?

On the contrary, the patch, or rather the lack of it, can help you enter Nirvana.

Not thinking about anything is zen. Once you know this, walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, everything you do is zen. To know that the mind is empty is to see the buddha… Using the mind to look for reality is delusion. Not using the mind to look for reality is awareness. Freeing oneself from waiting for the patch is liberation.

Wise words, tough to implement for the average mortal. I'll have to dig out Hesse's Siddharta once again one of these days......

Oh, rats.. I know I'll hate myself later... but I'll wash my hands.

Okay, here goes, for all of the latent masochistic punsters out there.

"But, that was zen. This is now.!"

Okay, I got that horrible one out of my system.

Now, WHERE IS THE PATCH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Boy have you been brainwashed by Bush's spin doctors....... Ever been taught to use your own brain? I've never seen such a poor piece of propaganda.

And you wonder why I'm called the "madman"? I am quite happy about many things, but some I just seeth about and still others don't bother me at all! So I guess in the end perhaps its' called well adjusted? Of perhaps being comfortable in my own skin?

Just called Home Defense Ministry. You have confessed a clear case of doll terrorism. Sorry buddy, you're gonna be taken away to Guantanamo detention camp until you repent your evil deeds and denounce your terror network! [8D]
