Dreaded "save game failed to load"

I looked up this problem with the search engine but found Bill referring it to Paul with no follow-up that I could find. I am in an email game and have gotten this message on about turn 3. Could anyone tell me if they have gotten the same message in an email game and how you dealt with it? Also, I have gotten setup lines BEHIND my line of forces on the setup screen, and also no victory hexes (proper buttons had been clicked) on the setup move. Anyone had these problems in an email game?

Save failed to load is almost always caused by the save file not encrypting. The good news is your opponenet can simply play the turn over again since it didn't save properly.

The other things are bugs that should be fixed in the patch. Note that in the "view map" screen the v hexes show up on the jump map, but not on the main map.
