Situation Report

I loose 9 ac on the ground, including 8 Zeros. Annoying, but the ac are already replaced.
As long as I don't loose pilots.....

I spot a CA only 4 hexes out of Andaman Island. Doesn't take a genious to figure out what's coming.
I've not mined this base yet. The garrison is made up of only a small base force and a construction unit.
8 Dinah's and 9 Val's are also stationed there.

There are very few ships that can intervene, but 4 fleet destroyers are present at Rangoon. They're given
a good commander and ordered to move to Andaman at full speed. This could cost me, but if I damage any ships
my bombers will take care of them.

I'm not sending any ships out of Singapore - they're preparing for more important missions.

Situation Report

I thought Wobbly might send some cruisers and destroyers to pound Andaman - and then his entire battleline comes rushing in!
My 4 destroyers didn't have a chance, and I'm glad I only lost one. Non of the ac on the island was destroyed, but all the supplies are gone.
Especially the Special Base Force unit was hit hard, and all the coastal guns are out of action. They did score several hits on the Brit destroyers though.
Bad weather grounded my bombers at Rangoon, and the enemy ships got away. A minelayer is on its way to Andaman to make future visits more costly.

I hadn't expected such a show of force - why reveal his true strength to me for so little gains? Hm....
2 Fulmars were also reported lost today, and that means UK carriers.

I'm going to sortie the fleet in a few days. Both the KB and the battleships will strike Trimcomalee and try to destroy the British fleet before I invade.
23 subs left Singapore today and I released the 34th Division from China. I now got 6 polit points left [:'(]

In 5 days the large transports will start loading troops and supplies.

Soon the mighty sword of Nippon will strike fear into the decadent enemy!
There will only be one empire left in Asia when the guns again falls silent....

The liberated countries will welcome their saviors!

Good luck Japanese Players need somthing to be cheerful about on these forums.

My thoughts are that you will need to Blitzkrieg through India and capture Karachi and Bombay to prevent Wobbly from receiving British and Indian reinforcements and wittle down his forces in a number of large battles were you will decide to take place depending on where you attack.Until his allied forces are on the run.

You will also need to Control these ports and the Bay of Bengal to prevent allied reinforcements from landing from other sectors such as Yanks and Aussies from the Southwest and Southeast realising no attack will take place in the area. If not i can see these becoming a Japanese Russia scenario as Wobbly throws all his resources into the Battle and you slowly become bogged down. Also remember if you lose many Divisions and other units Allied counterattack could take place a lot sooner. Which would be a shame considering the great start you've achieved.

You will lose many Soldiers,Sailors and Pilots but im sure they will be spurred on by your assurances that the war will be over by Christmas [;)]

Good luck again may the Japanese Rising Sun bring about the destruction of the Stagnating British Eastern Empire! And bring Liberation to the opressed Indian peoples!

Tora Tora Tora!

Good luck! [:D]

Thanx guys! I'll do my best and see how far I can get.

Everything really depends on how Wobbly handles his forces. He got a lot of troops in Burma, and they can
stay there for me. When I invade Dacca and Calcutta, I hope he will rush his best divisions east and leave Karachi and Bombay open for invasion.

I also have to capture Colombo and Trimcomalee. If I can base my bombers here, it will be difficult to land Allied reinforcements.

First when these prerequisites have been fulfilled will it be possible to go in for the kill.
It kinda feels like Market Garden *swallows* [;)]

Situation Report

A Chinese unit enters Sian...recon I guess. Let him know I'm still there - then he'll be careful about moving more troops into Burma. Super heavy siege artillery has just been moved in and I'm going to pack a punch when I head north.

All divisions in Rangoon have now been rested. I'm waiting for a huge supply convoy to arrive before any offensive operations can begin.

I will let Wobbly relax before I send the KB after the Brit fleet. 4 more days and they will sail.
Then I'll start loading the 3000 size ap's - followed by the 1500's the next day. It will take a full week to reach their destination.

Tomorrow I should land at Timor. Hope I don't meet to heavy resistance...only bringing a bde.
Seems like Al decided to discontinue his bombing runs of the little island I occupied [;)]

Great AAR PzB! Ive just read all the way thru Wob's thread and this one and it has been very helpful in learning the game. Can't wait to start my own PBEM. One question....in your 1st post in this thread you mentioned that you used the WitP Unofficial Strategy Guide to help set up Jap industry and production. Could you post a link to that. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Situation Report

My tf with the cve Hosho was spotted SW of PM today - Wobbly is going to think I'm up to something. Hopefully he'll move out his ac from PM and divert potential convoys.
I've already achieved all I wanted to: get spotted [;)] My 5 Zeros and 5 Kates would reveal themselves as a bluff in no time - so I'm backing slowly out again.

The 34th Division started loading at Haipong today. I ordered another division to prepare for Trincomalee as well. Difficult to know how many troops I'll need in India and how many reserves, ahh looking forward to going to war again. This 'sitzkrieg isn't anything for me!

Attacking force 291 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles

Defending force 0 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 7 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese forces CAPTURE Tenimbar base !!!

Situation Report

I'm picking up fuel and supplies from every Jap base in Asia and moving it to Singapore.
Only 2 more days of rest, then the fleet will once again set sail and prepare for battle.

I thought he had called it Hangover.

And as an RN fanboy I hope the RN and RAF hands him his head on a plate [X(][X(][X(]

I just hope that Wobbly hasnt overcommitted to Rangoon and Burma.

Should be a lot of fun to watch ;)

Japanese ground losses:
13 casualties reported

Situation Report

The most quiet turn in the entire war - but in Singapore the fleet disappears into the night!
My best ships manned by my best men, my best commanders and my best pilots have been gathered in 3 big task forces.

The KB with 6 carriers (384 ac), 6 cruisers and 10 destroyers
The Fast Battleship Division with the 4 Kongos, 8 cruisers and 10 destroyers
The Main Body with 5 battleships, 7 cruisers and 8 destroyers.

All the search planes have been stood down and the forecast predicts heavy precipitation.

The fleet will sail south of Andaman Island and move towards Trincomalee.
All the 9 battleships will be joined into one gigantic bombardment fleet together with 15 cruisers and deliver one devastating blow against the British port.
The KB will put her ac on naval attack with port attack against Trincomalee as seconday objectives.

I don't believe Wobbly is using Colombo as his main fleet base, but if he does - I will deliver heavy blows here as well.
The slow British ships can't outrun me and I outgun them [:D] I'm going to get medieval on your hiney this time Al!
It will take 5-6 days before the fleet will arrive.

I also started loading Transport Group 4:
50 (size 3000) transports, 3 msw, 10 pc/pg, 2 cruisers and 6 destroyers.

This group is supposed to unload the bulk of the army and carriers:
14th and 16th Armies + the 22nd Air Flotilla
2nd, 4th and 6th Divisions
7 tank regiments (Bring on the Matildas!)
1 Engineer Regiment
2 Construction units
2 Base units
1 Coastal Gun unit
5 Artillery units
2 Heavy AA units

These units will occupy 125000/150000 of the total capacity, while an additional 25000 supplies will be loaded.
Tomorrow Transport Groups 1-3 will start loading and the escort form up.

Subs have already mined Indian harbours and are currently taking up battle stations.
This is an all out effort, and nothing will be spared!

The future of the Empire rests on this operation and every man is told to do his outmost!

Situation Report

Yesterday B17's spotted my subs in the Indian Ocean. This means that Wobbly has moved in a group.
Not good, but I doubt they will make much of a difference.

I told Wobbly that I didn't like how he bombed Andamana Island and is trying to direct some seawolfs towards him.
Isn't that the truth...

One of my minelaying subs actually managed to hit one of my own mines today and sink!!! Argh, I don't need this now.

The fleet has moved 6 hexes north from Singapore and is currently hidden in heavy clouds.
I've formed up the rest of the invasion fleet:

3 convoys with 35 (1500 size) transports and escorts.
1 MSW grou
1 Fast transport group
1 Escort group
1 supply convoy group

In addition I've formed 2 smaller convoys that will transport various supporting units. It was difficult to load all the troops I wanted as it often took several ships to load a single unit. The escort carrier has been attached to invasion group 4 together with an AV.

It will take some days to finish loading.

In China Wobbly has moved a 9 ac AVG partial group to Kungchang. There are also Hurricanes here, and they gave me a hard time today. I can handle the latter, but I need Zeros to kill the Warhawks. Lost 16 to 8 ac today. I'm not sure these fighters will remain in China when the $hit hits the fan! [:D]
