Post by Sergio Castaldi »

This is my problem: j have processed the map and the program has raise the entire map to level 60. Now j want to build all the 6 level of the mountains but j don't remember how j can do this. Can you help me step by step ? Yes j know j must return on the Spwaw Map Editor, but how j must to operate on the map (in the Spwaw Map Editor) to have all the 6 levels of hills ? J remember that the Mountainizer work fine with the ver 7.1.

J hope you can help me.

Sergio,

Mountainizer is a great tool but requires a lot of advance planning.

When you start with the original map you want to make only the hill formations that will be the "peaks" or "hilltops" of your planned mountain ranges. Then you run it through the mountainizer program so that the level 30's become level 60's, etc etc. and then you can use the editor to make the "lower" levels of the mountain range.

I have recently started playing SPWAW again, after about a year or so of very infrequent play. About 2 orso years ago was dabblling with map creation, and was having some success with Freds editor for increasing map elevations, but got frustrated with the program. It was a great program but took too much time to master, and I did not have the time. So after a few years of absence from the forums, hearing about this mountainizer program has got me itching to give map making another try. So Sergio, if you would, I'd like to get a copy of this program also, and would be glad to send you an email if that would be alright. Thanks!!

Thank you for the response Sergio, but I also found the program online. I was looking for Mountainizer, not knowing it was a part of Sdquickies. One thing I have noticed while using it though, is that I found it is easier to start building my mountains with the SPWAW editor by building the highest elevations up to level 3, or lower depending on what my highest elevation will be and then raising the map and bulding the next lower elevations, if that makes sense. The thing to watch out for is that if you raise hexes one at a time it can leave slopes in flat terrain. I had no luck in raising the whole map to the max elevation then carving out the terrain. This is the program I have been waiting for!!

At risk of being expelled from the forum.......

I appreciate that SPWaW is now a Windows based game, but SPWW2 has a multi level ability...can't this be implemented into SPWaW?

Cheers!
