Benefit of increasing Arnment & Vehicle Production

Post by Renegade »

Hi Folks,

i'm playing Lemurs! Mod in 1.30 and have strongly increased my Armor & Vehicle Production Factorys. The direct Result was a huge Pool of Weapons & Tanks just like Planes when you increase your Plane production. However the difference is that the Arnment & Vehicles actually get used by your Troops. I guess you could easily beef up your Army strengh in increasing Production. When you compare a units TOE with it's actual Equipment you find out that it has vastly improved. For example:

a typical Japanese Base Force Unit

TOE: 8x4,7 Inch CD GUN "Enhanced" 8x5,5 Inch
16x3 Ich DP Gun 16x4,7 Inch

a typical Infantry Division Unit

TOE: 37MM AT Gun "Enhanced" 47MM AT Gun
no Tanks 16 Typ 92 Tankettes

a typical Armor Division

Typ 2 Tank exchanged with Typ 95
Typ 89A " " Typ 3 Medium
37 MM AT Gun " " 47 MM AT Gun

So in my opinion it's better to increase Arnment & Vehicle Production then Planes, because the latter you can't use. (In terms of "creating new Air-Units" or "overstocking" Air Units.

Cheers,

Yes and no. They are both vital to your successes. Without sufficient air power the allies will bomb your men into nothingness earlier than normal. BUT, without sufficient weapons your army cannot take (or defend) any land despite air supremecy. So its a double edged sword. BUT the one advantage for planes is... You can stockpile planes at your leisure even while not allowing replacements to reach your units. You cannot do this with army equipment - if no units are demanding more items / new items, your industry simply won't build them. So its better to stockpile actual items than HI or armament points. An increase in both is the way to go - although of the items mention, vehicle is the least important, as japan does not have that many armored units and a lot of the divisions that have tanks attached will not replace them if lost.

[I have never looked at Lemurs scenarios.. The above is my opinions based on scenario 15 play]

Dude, if you play as the Japanese in PBEM, Lemurs is a must have. It rocks.

scout1,

Go to Spooky's site and down load Lemurs mod version 4.0. He has a pretty good readme, but not everything he changed or moved around is in it. I have been playing his mods since WITP came out and still can not list all the changes he made.

Here is a link to Spooky's site

Or you can PM me with your email address and I will shoot you just the readme from version 4.0.
