Registered machine?

Post by Laith »

Just received file from PBEM opponent (new game) and when trying to load the file, BiN game me a message saying “game must be played on a registered machine”?

Anyone know what this is?

Since my previous problem and re-installing BiN, I've had no problems with another PBEM game I'm playing...

That will be a secure game then? Each player must keep playing on the computer that they start the PBEM game on because registry entries are used as part of the game security. You can't switch from your desktop to your laptop halfway through.

I understand that but this was the first move of the game. I hadn't played any previous turns on this game...

that mean your opponent had made an error.
in a secure game the german player must start (initiate in fact) the game, then send to the allied player for the first move.

Hi Laith,
The sequence is as follows for a secure game - Your opponent (the person who will play the axis side) creates the secure game. They do not make a move, and instead send the first setup file to you, the allied player, who then has the first turn. The computer you play your first turn on becomes the registered machine, and must be used for all other turns.
