I printed out the whole manual and read it over a couple of nights. I was lucky enough to be able to sneak into my shop at night and print it out on government computers. I checked with kinkos and they wanted like 30 bucks to print it out over there. That is a little steep for me so I had to resort to other means.

What things don't you like? That may be the key to your decision.

First do the tutorial, then don't feel bad about getting to theses forums and ask questions. There are a lot of helpful folks here.[;)]

Stall84,

Was the download version 1.3? I just ordered WiTP too but on hard copy only (no dd for me) and am hoping that it'll be 1.3 when it arrives.

Only problem with hard copy of course is waiting for it to arrive, and I have no idea how long that takes!
I believe it's still 1.20...

Of course there are! All the veterans are looking for fresh meat for their PBEM games! [:D] (OJT takes on a whole new meaning when you're watching entire divisions and task forces evaporate. [:'(])

So is it really worth $70.00?

I really can't belive price is an issue, when I see Half Live 2 and MOHPA going for $50.00 and then have people say they finished them in 4 days.

[8|]Asking if Witp is worth "x" amount of dollars is really a redundant question, never has there been so much game for so little money when you extrapilate the gaming vs. dollar equation[;)].

What things don't you like? That may be the key to your decision.

What i dont like so far and seems to be the main reason for not getting it is the strict way the game handles purchase of units. It is to far historical in terms of freedom to choose and build something that feats your plans instead of what actually was made.I have in mind mostly the Jap player since Allies get lots of everything.I mean why shouldnt i be able to build ships of certain type and capacity and instead only to have what Japs really made? They did what they did because the war went the way it went with all the factors on that.BUT a game is a SIMULATION and NOT a copy of the actual situation. Therefore if i do better than the original Japanese why shouldnt i be able to build ships that i want to according to my planning? Why should i have to wait the real data of appearance for an LCU instead of getting one when i have the men and material to form it?
This is the reason.

That is why we have modders around.

Play the Lemurs mod as the Japanese side in a PBEM. So far, that is the ultimate scenario in my opinion and the only one I will PBEM. I may not agree with all the design decisions, but as a long time GG gamer, this is well worth the money.

Even with some of the current quirks and bugs.

You can change any aspect of the OOB using the editor, including the dates units appear. However, even doing this you would still be exchanging one rigid OOB for another; unlike the modeling of naval construction, there is no provision for accelerating LCUs or air units.
