Custom Mission Creation Bug

Post by Hammer_77th »

Attempting to create custom missions and am having a problem with affiliating flights (squadrons) with carriers. For example, I created a Carrier and two ship flight per the PDF manual info. When I tag the flight to the carrier in the set-up and then try to launch I get the space pic with the horizontal white line. At that point a reboot is necessary.

If I do NOT tag the flight to a carrier, not only does the flight show up on the map OK, it launches with no error.

If anyone can help, please reply. Thanks,

RE: Custom Mission Creation Bug

Dear Hammer,

In what concerns that carrier problem, it happens to me everytime I select the player flown fighter when it is launching from a carrier.
In fact, that bug will always happen on single missions but there is a solution for MP games.
The solution I've found is simple. Add all fighters you want and organise them as you want. Assign them to be launched from the carrier of your choice.
Make all these fighters "playable" but none as "player".
Select another craft as the "player" craft, anything that is not inside a carrier or a space station.
When launching a MP game, either "map" yourself to the carrier or space station (wherever you have assigned your fighters) and hit accept.
Once in game, go to the flight menu and launch your fighters.
Once your fighters are outside the carrier, exit the game but don't exit Starshatter (as it will run as long as there's at least 1 player around).
As you've exited the game you will find yourself on the ODB menu.
Now all you have to do is map yourself to the fighter you want to fly and hit accept.
You will find yourself in the game, flying that fighter.
Same goes if you die.
If there are no revives you will find yourself flying as an observer (nobody else will see you and your guns/weapons won't work).
Just exit and map yourself to another unit and get in the war again!!!
I hope this helped...
