PBEM Games What is the edict

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

PBEM Games What is the edict

Post by Gary Tatro »

Recently I have accepted a challenge to play a SPWAW game vie PBEM.

What I would like to know is what is game edict. The guidelines while playing another player via PBEM. Just some on the unspooken dues and do nots.

Courious and cautious???

You mean "ethics". Simple: Do not cheat! Do not reload if you make a mistake. Otherwise anything that the game allows is OK.

Hmmm I don't know if It's written anywhere but I've a few do's and don't's for you to consider.

Do try and play regularly. Whether that be a turn daily, tri weekly or weekly. When we don't hear from our opponents for a while we feel we've been dumped, while we could have used the slot for another opponent.

Don't replay your turn. If you walked into an ambush, then you did. Just because we have the ability to nix it and replay it's neither realistic nor apprecitated by your opponent.

Do learn that there are tools which make playing PBEM easier. PBEM Helper manages your games. OOB Manager allows you to play opponents with custom or older OOBs simply. Winzip is a must. It will compact your enormous files into an easy to handle attachments.

Don't be put off if you run into some unethical players. It used to be much worse, but we seemed to have settled into some fine opponents.

Do have fun. The adage is true; it doesn't matter whether you win or loose, it's how you played the game. Nobody in the real world will give a rat's *** you stormed the fuhrer bunker, so you might as well be seen in a good light with your fellow players, than the supertourney winner.
"In light of my experience, I consider that your conclusion that the attacker needs a three to one superiority is under the mark, rather than over it. I would say that, for success, the attacker needs six to one or seven to one against a well-knit defence
