How can i use AD and AS?

I don't understand how can i use AD and AS.
This ships must be disbanded in the port?

Yes, just disband them in a port and they will work. Size 3 and above.

Maybe it is a silly questions, but what exactly are those ship do?

Been asked and answered many times before.

AR is a repair ship - speeds up repairs to ships
AS is a sub tender - allows submarines to reload torpedos in smaller ports and helps repair them only
AD is a destroyer tender - same for sub tenders only it applies to destroyers and light cruisers
MLE is a mine tender - allows mine layers to reload in smaller port

You can convert 7000 size AK's to the above ships by disbanding them in SF or Osaka and going into the ship info screen. There will be an option there to convert them. 180 days later they will show up as the new ship.

NOTE- the Japanese can not build anymore AD's
