Test AAR between 2ndACR and RonS
OK. I've been bitching but not helping with bugs etc. Dave and I are starting a fresh 1.30 restart of our earlier PBEM game and will play fast and furious until his deployment orders come in, possibly a week of game time a night) Who knows, maybe he has a few months left and we can get into 1944.
This is a stock Lemurs 4.0 with the wps, wpc and wpd files from the scenario TankerAce, DonBowen and I are doing. This game can either feature respawning or not as the missing hulls (from CV down to the lowliest MSW) due to name duplication have been included with original names, cancelled names and in some cases, fictional names. For non respawn, any respawned ships are left in San Francisco (IJN can use respawned MSWs as many small IJN escorts built during war are not yet entered into our scenario). If one wants to play with spawning, simply leave the ships we added (names of ships will have a flag or something added to database for ease of identification) in San Francisco.
I'm opting for non respawning![:D] Really, who would have thought?[;)] I'm going to keep weekly saves in an archive in an attempt to isolate various bugs as they come up and to have an out so the game does not become a lost cause like our last one.
WARNING! I'm a PC retard so the AAR may be a little dry. I don't have any editing programs and don't know how to use them anyway![8|]Duhhh.. gimme a break! When I was growing up I played sports and chased girls so the veins on my forehead are not bigger than my fingers.[:'(] If anyone wants to help me with free shareware and quickie instriuctions to spice up this AAR fill your boots.
Once our scenario is complete I have a game reserved with Panzerjaeger Hortlund (and Bosun and freeboy if interested) and we are going all the way with loads of houserules. He likes AARs so maybe we can see if my reservations and warnings about all hell breaking loose with surprise bugs and glitches as we hit 44 come to pass.

Just to let you know Ron, I haven't got all the ships added in. I don't think it'll cause any errors. I know I haven't touched all the new US DDs, or any of the Brit ships. Best of luck.

I've added a bunch of stuff for fun just to play with the editor. Kinda a waste of time but seeing as my PBEM games were dead, what the hell. Added alot of stuff Don supplied but have not frigged with Japan too much. All the war built merchies Brady was asking for Don has found but I've not put them in this as my database is not the master for out mod.
This is more a test of the non spawning approach, altered ASW ratings, and bug hunting. With play by play squealing when we like something and bitching commentary when we don't.

See the animosity is already becoming apparent with Japan. [8D][:-] Sitting here waiting for turn 1. WTF is taking him so long? This game makes me want a cigarette!

RE: Test AAR between 2ndACR and RonS
New worlds record!!!! 2 first turns as Japan in less than 5 hours total time.
RE: Test AAR between 2ndACR and RonS
Since this is more of a test game, I am going to try a few new tactics out on my punching bag.[:D]
Mainly because I want to see if they will work, plus Ron has already been on the recieving end of one of my REAL 1st turns. He whined real loud and I am going to take pity on him and go for PH, just so he has a few subs to play with and test with.[:@]
But by playing each other before, I also have a pretty good idea of what huckleberry has planned and I am going to go right for the throat real quick. Now if only he will hurry the heck up and send me my turn back.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO END YOUR TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well. I load the first turn, ya know, the one you do nothing with as the Allies. Well, looking around for a bit, I noticed a leader was wrong. Checked further, and all the subs I checked at Manila had different leaders, Japs, Limeys, Army Cols....lalala. The game screws your leaders before you touch anything. [X(]So...guess we don't need to send anymore saves as we don't have to do anything for it to happen.
Guess we don't have top play anymore, Dave. All that wasted effort on two first turns to boot.[:D]

Well the first tunr is done. Ron's little oopsy made me commit a few mistakes in my frustration. But I will overcome them.
Ron got bitch slapped at PH. Best one I have ever seen. Now if only we can convince the Devs that if a "magazine explosion" hit is done to exempt that ship from soaking up anymore ordanance.[:@]
Have I said that I hate subs with a passion lately? Well I do even more with Allied doctrine off. I will post the full first turn and then abrieviate them afterwards.

RE: Test AAR between 2ndACR and RonS
What a knob! He's posting his results while I wait for his grandmother to drop off his turn. Underhanded Jap weasel. Take my fun away. Oh well, he can post the results as i SUCK AT IT.
How many magazine explosions were there? Thank Gawd for stupid pilots!![:D] Utah's big debut and this is the worst/best PH attack I've seen. Good thing BBs are crap.

That is why I posted it. You said you suck at it. Feel free to contribute though.
I just had to gloat over that PH raid. God it is something to watch.

Utah did not do it's one job for the entire war too well. 2 wee bombs. Called ya a knob 'cause your turn and replay are still in grandma's bag.

Pretty sure what I have planned? ??? Do I plan on kicking your ass in India and Java? Maybe. Do I plan on using my CVs to raid things for no gain? No. Do I plan on spanking the eaters of walrus nuts if he breaks the invisible hyman around which the Pacific Theatre defensive strategy is based. Hell yes! He just has to hit my G spot.[8D]
Did I plan on blowing it on turn one!? NOOOOOO![:'(][8|]

Game is still on. I think. We were having email problems this morning so just waiting on Ron to see if he can unzip or use the 3rd set of files I sent him.

Okay. Just assuming it's a continuation of our bad luck. Got the saves but have had three straight CTDs. Must be my box because I have to say for the bugs and all, THIS IS A STABLE PROGRAM. I've never had a better experience than with WITP regarding this. Must be on my end and I'll fix. Sorry for the delay.
Things are ticketyboo now. The script report does not do that PH attack justice. Holy Crap! That sucked for the good guys. Magazine explosions everywhere. Thank Gawd the Jap pilots did not think the BBs being blown asunder spelled doom for the same, as those flaming wrecks took many hits after the death blows. Utah drew a few toy bombs. Boink! Nice piece of art is what it is now, it has no stats aside from its durability
Weird. Could have sworn I changed Pelias to a Griffin class AS. Still a Canopus! This game is soooo huge I'm halucinating now. AV Wright is a single ship class though...I'll get it all correct in the end.[:-]Don't you kids worry none.
Back to licking my wounds...
