combining hard disk partitions

Post by mendipbus »

Hello

Does anyone know of any software that can combine harddisk space on different partitions into one partition?

e.g

c: has 6gb spare
e : has 8gb spare
f : has 14gb spare

What I want to do is take all this space and make another partition or virtual drive g:

I swear I have seen a program that has done this in the past, but cannot find any details anywhere.

Thanks

Partition Magic 8.0 Pro is definitively the best for this kind of purpose.[8D]
I use it at work.

But at the price currently being charged for 200+ Gigabyte drives, I'd just spend my money on a bigger drive before spending it on software to try and tweak a little more life out of my existing system. You don't mention the total size of those drives, remember that it isn't efficient to pack any drive to capacity. In fact, some experts suggest that 50% is the most efficient level to maintain.

Just a thought... I've got two 80 and a 200 gig drive in my rig at the moment (and thinking about adding another 200)

Especially on the drive your operating system resides on.

I have never used Partition Magic but since Pumba says it works, here you are a link where you can download it for free. NO piracy. 22 megas or so and it is written "demo". Maybe it will let you do one partition, I don't know. You could give it a try.

P.S.:
keep your fingers crossed though...
