Matrix Games Holiday “What’s Your Strategy?” Sale! Many New Games On Sale For Limited Time

Staten Island, NY, December 10th, 2004 - Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) is pleased to have a chance to offer gamers the world around a chance to save a few bucks during the holidays. We all know that our paychecks have to stretch a little further this time of year, so for those looking to expand their collection of great strategy titles while spending less money, we’ve got the sale for you!

Thanks to the cooperation of developers 2 by 3 Games (www.2by3games.com), Koios Works (www.koiosworks.com), Panther Games (www.panthergames.com), Strategic Studies Group (www.ssg.com.au) and Destroyer Studios (www.starshatter.com), many of our newest games are available for a few weeks at a lower price. The sale begins December 10th, 2004 and lasts until midnight on January 3rd, 2005. This is a unique event, so strike while the prices are low!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “We would like to say thanks to all our customers who supported us in 2004. This is a small way of saying thank you for your support and loyalty. We hope you’ll keep checking back during 2005 (and bring a few friends too!) as we have an amazing lineup in store for you. Happy Holidays from all of us!”

The following titles are included in this sale, listed below with both their sale prices and their usual prices:

Battles In Normandy (SSG) $59.99 $49.99 Sale Price! (www.battlesinnormandy.com)

Highway To The Reich (Panther) $49.99 $39.99 Sale Price! (www.highwaytothereich.com)

What format are these prices for? Is this for download only? Are the prices in the store already updated or is the discount taken when the transaction is completed?

The discount applies to all versions, so if the digital download is now $10 cheaper, the physical product ends up being $10 less as well.

The prices in the store are already updated as of Midnight last night and reflect the new discounted prices for these products, just browse and purchase as normal. We're planning to add a "Holiday Sale" category to the store if possible to highlight these titles, but you can reference the press release for now if you forget which are on sale. [8D]

For those of our customers outside the US, this sale is worldwide, so the discounts apply to all currencies as you will see in the other store fronts.

Is GoT (DD + Boxed version) already available or should I wait one more week???[&:] Why is this option not available yet???[&:]

Pumba,

I updated a bunch of the currency conversions last night, including all the sale items, to the latest I had as of December 7th - so I saw that several of the price points became more advantageous for our non-US customers. The rest of the currency conversion updates should be done over the weekend. Please have a look, I think you'll be happy.

Unfortunately, whenever we announce a sale, there's always someone that just missed it. Sorry about that. We are keeping it going through January 3rd, so if you end up with some spare change during the holidays, it will still be going.

The Gates Of Troy boxed version is in production. Whenever we release a new title, it takes 1-2 weeks to produce enough copies of the "game on demand" boxes to handle iniitial supply needs, then we produce as needed from then on out. As soon as that initial pool is ready, we'll enable the physical product options for Gates of Troy. I'd estimate another week before those are ready, but we are dependent on another company for that so I may be off plus or minus a day or two.

Erik,

thanks for your reply.I will give a look...[8D] Hope € will continue its exchange rate increase vs. $...[:D]It will be interesting at least for me,[:)]for some unnegligible spare...[;)]

So regarding GoT,I should wait. Could I pick up the DD first and then add the boxed version? Is this possible?[&:] Why not making the DD + boxed version already available, informing the customer that the box will only be available within a certain duration and ship asap;I could have already proceeded to the DD...[:)]and wait everlastingly for the box...[:D]experienced already.

Patience should really be my virtue...[:D]

Yes, it's definitely improved since our last update.
So regarding GoT,I should wait. Could I pick up the DD first and then add the boxed version? Is this possible?[&:]
Yes, absolutely. While in the Store, go to the Store FAQs and click on the question: "What if I want a shipment, but I've already ordered the download?" Let me know if that helps. [8D]

Based on past experience, it's been less confusing for customers to do it this way, but we'll keep listening and adjust based on feedback.

I am not seeing the price reductions when I go to the store. I have even placed BIN into my cart, but it still comes up at $49.95 for the download version and $59.95 for the full boxed version.

I'm not sure I follow - $49.99 is the reduced price. Before this sale, BiN's price was $59.99 for the digital download, $69.99 for the boxed version.

Your e-mail notification was misleading:

<< The following titles are included in this sale, listed below with both their sale prices and their usual prices:

Battles In Normandy (SSG) $59.99 $49.99 Sale Price (www.battlesinnormandy.com) Highway To The Reich (Panther) $49.99 ]$39.99 Sale Price (www.highwaytothereich.com) Korsun Pocket (SSG) $49.99 $39.99 Sale Price (www.korsunpocket.com) Starshatter (Destroyer) $39.99 $29.99 Sale Price (www.starshatter.com) Tin Soldiers: Alexander The Great (Koios) $49.99 $39.99 Sale Price (www.koiosworks.com) Uncommon Valor (2 by 3) $49.99 $39.99 Sale Price (www.uncommonvalor.net)

In addition, our newest release, Gates of Troy from Slitherine Strategies, is now available for a price of $19.99! >>

It didn't specify that these were the download prices, it didn't mention downloads at all.

So, I assumed it was the regular price and the download would be $10 less (per earlier posting) and expected a $39.99 download price.

Sorry for my confusion!
Love & Peace,

Far Dareis Mai

Erik,

I just need a clarification:Is there a difference in price between going directly through DD + boxed version and order DD first, then add the shipment?[&:] The shipment concerns the box and not the backup CD any longer?Am I correct? Thanks in advance.

I would love to take advantage of this, but I still get the same !@#!@ error when I try to check out with a credit card. Last time I tried I sent a support request regarding the order from the website, including the situation and the error code I received, and got a not too helpful "Your order is not complete" email.

Has anyone who previously had trouble getting their cc info accepted recently solved it?

Please send us a detailed report with what is happening (and the credit card type you use) to support@matrixgames.com. We will get this to the right people at Digital River.

I have a similar problem, I have an error message when using my CC to pay (but no email). I have sent yesterday an email to the support, but I have no answer yet.

All I can say is bravo for offering this. As you probably know, many many of us have dial up internet service which is really not possible to download such large files. It would take days and most often one loses his connection after several hours or else the file does not download properly or is corrupted. So if I want the game I really need to order the game on disk. I always felt that it was really lousy that someone who had broadband could get a game for 49.95 and people who had dial up service had to pay 59.95. Hopefully this will not be a one time only trial offer as I can see paying 49.95 but really have no business, in my financial situation, ordering it at 59.95
