Can't download Patch for BIN

Hi,

I just bought BIN and I have as well registered my game yet I'm having problem downloading the patch for it. I tried clicking on both the exe or zip version of the patch same results; please see my image before for more details...

the download works for me, might be worth restarting your browser or power cycling your os and try again perhaps.

Hi Chris,

I use Mozilla Firefox and when I click on the link after a few seconds I get that message. I tried using Internet Explorer didn't work either. Is there any chance you can email me tha patch ? I'm a valid BIN customer of course. I'm wondering if the matrix web server needs a registration to make me able to download the patch. I did enter my reg number to register the game I wonder if something is wrong there...

I use opera and downloaded fine, Matrix don't use a registration system for downloads, but I think you will be prompted for your serial when you install the patch. Send me your current email address to me so I can mail the patch to you.

I am having same trouble.

I get same results. see exact same message.

I have tried Firefox, then used IE, no change.

I have turfed cookies cleaned out cache restarted browser done it all.

When I right click in IE to save target I get this familiar message result.

I am naturally wondering why I am suddenly unable to get the patch file. My browser shows my game as registered correctly. I have not tried to re register either.

Any suggestions?

I am open to an email option if that will work for me as well.
I am PMing my email to you on the chance that solution is viable.

Hmm hey Peter, this problem appears worse than just a problem with BiN.

Won't let me download any manner of patch at all.

BiN or the other not required to be registered ones as well.

Yipppeeee might have aced this for you as well Peter.

See where it shows this link inside the members area (it's below the list of games).

Download Retail Updates : For Matrix Games products purchased in stores that do not require serial numbers or that you don't see listed.

This link send you to a different looking spot
You end up on the Trueupdate page with the games represented by boxes.
Click on the BiN image and you see the download files.

Just worked for me, might for you.

I've been trying to download the patch for a few days with no success. I've tried the "Downloads" section and the "Members" area both multiple times with no luck. In the "Downloads" section I get this error message: "the server returned extended information". In the "Members" area I get this error message: "password was not allowed". I've tried it with GetRight and without. I've tried it with firewall on and firewall off. I've downloaded from Matrix many times before so I can't figure out what the problem is.

I just double-checked and had no problems with downloading, so I'm not sure what's going on. Those of you with problems, have you had any problems downloading from us in the past? Have you recently made any changes to your configurations? It's possible that in fixing the issue with the SQL server we messed something up on this end, but again, it seems to be working perfectly for me so I can't confirm the problem.

Another program to try is www.stardownloader.com if GetRight is causing problems. Also on the Downloads page links, try right clicking and using "Save Target As" if you have problems when left clicking on the update files.

Just for some late night input.

I once downloaded aaaaaaall the publicly available files just because it's handy to not need to return to get them.

So clearly something about conditions has changed since for me.

I recently went to Firefox 1.0 the full version.
But I got nowhere with IE as well, so that left me wondering.

As mentioned above, I managed to get the file through an alternate route here at Matrix Games.
My assumption is some parts of the Matrix Games site might not be in sync with others, but that is a blind assumption with nothing to go on but a guess.

Clearly one option works.

Best I can suggest, is checking out what might not be identical with the two options.

Why should the Members section not work, while the TrueUpdate page route does?

I still get this alert from Netscape:

421 Your connection is closed, because you don't have file transfer over 10 seconds.

Yeah same here now I get time out after 10 seconds. I also have War in the Pacific game and I have no problem with downloading patches for it. The only way for me to get the patch for BIN is to follow Hexed Gamer instructions...

Ok JUST for fun I just tried downloading a patch for WitP and now I get the same results...

Thanks for your response. I just tried downloading the patch again with no success. It's not a problem with GetRight or my computer because I still download from other sites with no problem. When I try the right click "save target as" that's when I get the error messages listed above. Since not everyone is having the exact same problem, I assume it's some kind of strange glitch between your server and my pc. Once again, I've downloaded lots of stuff from Matrix over the years and never had this issue. If there's any more information you need me to provide, just let me know.

Hey, that was exactly how I got it! I closed FireFox and went back to my old favorite, Opera.

hmm, very strange.

Ok, I've set the timeout to 30 seconds now.

If it still doesnt work, let me know.
It would mean something else is wrong, as FTP should definitely not take 30 seconds to begin a file transfer.

I already got the patch throught the download section, but the one in the members area still doesn't seem to be working. It tried to use this link (seems variable): ftp://161395006199:6245816@web.matrixga ... tev101.exe
and now timed out after 30 seconds.
