Quality of "Physical Shipment"

Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

Quality of "Physical Shipment"

Post by mbillett »

Hello. I'm going to get "Battles In Normandy" but I cannot decide whether it's worth the extra money to get a "Physical Shipment". Is the CDROM a mastered CD or just a CD-R? What's the quality of printing like? Were you disappointed? and finally sould I just get the "Digital Download" it and burn it myself.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt, I'd simply download and burn - I find it's very convenient.

The physical disc has a number of benefits:

1. Makes for a present.
2. Offers something to sell.
3. Allows those with slow internet to comfortably own the game.

If these situations aren't you and you're not into collecting boxes, I'd simply get the d'l going.

Cheers,
Adam.

As a collector I was fully satisfied by the "Physical shipment".[8D]
The CD is a nice labelled one insert in a lovely box.[:)]but if you are not a collector I would suggest you just pick up the DD option.
I have just been waiting one month for this damned box...[:D]this has been corrected since that time,I hope so...[;)]

The box is a DVD box, printed with full color front, back and spine. The CD inside is also professionally full color printed. It looks like what you'd buy in a store, at least in Europe where DVD boxes are the common form of game packaging.

Here's a picture of the box, just re-imagine as a DVD box:

Thanks for the replies. Went for a straight digital download. Thought I use the money saved towards a CDROM printer.

Cheers,

Matt
