Ok I found a shortcut when loading SPWAW

instead of clicking on the SPAWA Icon to load the game, click on mech.exe its loads the menu right up
much faster no movie no game menu.

Hi, good job, it's also a way for some people with problems (Win-me) to avoid the lockup

Lots of people already start WPWaW via mech.exe directly. That way you don't have to wait through the splach screen from the menu. One funny thing: I recently had to replace and do a fresh install on my HD. The menu is actually the autorun file. When I loaded SPWaW & the MCLV, my menu icon showed my digital camera icon!!! It still points to the autorun and functions properly. I deleted and created it anew with the same results. When I replaced the icon with the SPWaW.ico, it shows properly.
Never take counsel of your fears.
