Why should the top one (found via TrueUpdate page route) work..

Ok, I found that the FTP service had to be restarted to use the updated settings.
I tested the MembersArea download and it works now (it didnt the past day or so).
So try it now, and it should work.

The difference between the two, is that the public FTP (also found via the original Downloads page on the Matrix website), uses a public FTP server.

The Members Area uses a custom database-driven FTP service, that ensures security based on the Members Area. This will ensure that in future when registered members log in they will have FTP access to special content that non-registered users will not.

I'm still unable to download from either area. I'm also unable to access the patch.txt page. Any suggestions on trouble shooting this?

I just tried downloading a few other patches for different games as a test and it seems that I cannot access anything on your FTP server. I had my firewall and virus protection turned off, but still no go.

This is getting pretty odd - it seems to be fixed for the rest of the folks, not sure why you're still seeing a problem. Try connecting with FTP software if you haven't tried that already, for example you can get a trial version of Bulletproof FTP, which I use, from www.bpftp.com. Just set it to connect to ftp.matrixgames.com with the login anonymous and no password and you'll be able to browse our public ftp server, get to the updates you need and drag and drop them over to your local hard drive folder. If that doesn't work, then it's not a browser issue, but a connection issue.

Thanks for your help with this. I did as you suggested and downloaded Bulletproof. When I connect to the Matrixgames FTP no files show up on the screen even after I right-click and do "Refresh Directory".
Am I doing something wrong? What do you suggest now? Thanks again...

[:)] I fixed my problem by by changing the the firewall settings on my router to low and finally downloaded the patch. I feel like there are too many firewalls on my computer. I have one in Windows (turned off), one on my router (now set to low), and I also have a Norton's Firewall (set to medium security). Do you think the Norton's is enough protection and I should just turn off the router's firewall? Anyways thanks for your help and sorry for the trouble.
