COMMAND POST... ever buy one?

Post by campekenobi »

I'm curious what the function of the command post is, and if anyone bought one & found it useful... I'm assuming it is to park your HQ guys on & protect them??

Thanks.

It serves as a "rally point" for the troops. Within five hexes it gives the same effect of trying to rally units when near the company or A0 command units. I've thought about using them, but haven't gotten into the practice of backing units away from the fight, yet.

A0 is the first unit in yr unit list and normally corresponds to HQ.

If I'm not wrong the raly radius for Command post is 6 hexes, but when you're defending only.

The first unit you see when you fire up a WAW scenario or battle will be the A0 unit, at the top of the HQ and Menu screens. It is your "numero uno" guy, the grand exalted leader, the poobah.

It has special qualities, take good care of it, if you lose it or part of it in the Mega's you can be in all kinds of doo-doo.

And its also usually your most expensive unit; lose it and your opponent receives in the neighborhood of 200 points.

The British command posts with two Vickers HMG's are actually very useful for much more than rallying <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Useful for what else? Other than the rally thing, what purpose do they serve? I think they do the rally thing in other than defense scenarios, but it's a lot harder to keep your people in range of the effect when they're mounted in HTs charging across the field.

CPs are great for the defensive player when C&C is on.

CPs for artillery if you need them. If the Comand Post is your "B0" unit, it will lend CPs to units below it in the chain.
