Starshatter Releases New Demo A Totally New Way to Experience Starshatter, for Free!

Staten Island, NY, Dec 16th, 2004 - Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) and Destroyer Studios (www.starshatter.com) announced today that Starshatter has released a new demo that will take prospective players deeper into their unique, immense, world. The demo is free and can be found at the Matrix Games website at www.matrixgames.com.

Starshatter extends the game concepts of the classic space simulations by combining fighter and starship combat in a single game. You begin the game as either a fighter pilot or the commander of a small starship. As you progress through the game, you can earn promotions and awards until you are commanding a massive fleet carrier with three wings of fighters and a complete escort of warships.

The new demo includes the training campaign, Operation Live Fire, and the first five days of the first dynamic campaign, Operation Highland, along with a few single missions and a few multiplayer missions that can be enjoyed entirely for free.

The full version, which can be purchased from Matrix Game’s website, comes with four full dynamic campaigns and many multiplayer missions to battle online with. The full version of Starshatter is fully mod-able, allowing for endless creativity by its many fans.

By the way, if you haven't tried this game yet, you don't have to be a wargamer to enjoy it and at the same time there's a lot for a wargamer to love. The future represented here includes a pretty realistic "space navy" with carrier battle groups, destroyer squadrons, etc. In addition to being able to fly as a fighter pilot, you can command task groups in a zoomed out third person 3D view with full x, y and z movement and combat. In my opinion, it's the best game in this genre for a long, long time and deserves more attention, so spread the word!

The demo is available in our Members Area and in our Downloads section (and should shortly be on a number of gaming/demo sites across the internet as well). This is based on the latest v4.0.3 release version, which is much improved from the pre-release v3.9.0 demo that some of you may have tried in the past.
