What about modern warfare?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

What about modern warfare?

Post by Marek Tucan »

The SPWAW is great, but I´d like to know, if there will be some thing like this for era from 1950 to today. I think that SP 2 is a good game, too, but compared with features of SPWAW it is much less realistic. Does someone work on it? If there is some "Advanced SP2" in development, I think I should give some tips tomake it better.
Thanks for replies (if there will be any :-) ).

Well Tuccy, there will be a reply. Its rather unlikely that there will be a modern version. The only thing we have going on right now is SPNam, which covers part of that period.

That is not to say it won't ever happen, but it is not likely currently. Sorry. Now I hope I am proven wrong...Wild Bill

You should check out Ilja Varhas new and improved modern warfare in SP3, called SP3 Moderna. Very nice.

I agree with you here. I'd love to see the game expanded into the modern period. But I don't think we'll see it. As I read things SP Nam will be the last game that Matrix will do using the SP engine, and so will be the last 'freebe' game, then they will be busy developing their own games. Other then the thread started by Bill, I've not seen anything to suggest that they are planning a new squad level game in the near future, so I suspect that a game that covers the time period from 1950 to present, at the same squad level scale that SP2 does, would be at least two, three years away! Hopefully I'm wrong, but we'll have to be patient and see!
In times of war we see the worst that man has to offer. But we also see the best that man has to offer.

Thanks for replies. It's a pitty... So I think it is worth to continue with upgrading my SP2. Does sb want a Russian T-95 or the Black Eagle? Or T-72-140 (Ukraine)?
