Most Americans have a sense of fair play, I think...

If you can seriously justify the damages, you deserve them. But the cases most regular folks hear about are like: A woman buys a cup of coffee at a fast food restaurant, spills it in her lap while trying to drink it and drive at the same time, and sues (and wins) for millions. (Do you know how long it would take me to earn a million dollars, before taxes? Answer: 25 years. How do you justify that much?)
Too many people see the courts as a means to "get rich quick", at the expense of somebody perceived as having deep pockets, including (some) lawyers.

Actually I think that the complaint is about the "Name" such as Wildcat because F4F is the Goverment assigned designation for the A/C the company named it. Now this brings up the possibility of re-naming the A/C. How about the F6F Heckcat, P-39 AeroCoupe, F-16 Bird-of-Pray, F-15 Bigger Prayer, then there is the P-40 P...hawk no maybe Felinehawk. Of course some A/C have second names anyway, the P-47 Jug, or the A-10 Warthog, or B-52 Buff. [:D][:D][:D]

The supreme court already ruled on Dec 8th the onus is on the alleged victim to prove corporations(I.E.:game companies in particular) meant to represent themselves as agents of the alleged victims!!!!!!!!!)..

his is the crux. Enforcability. The have a literal, techincal right to their trademarks, but in reality, abosolute control is simply unenforceable. Won't amoung to a hill of beans.
