Joystick problemas (Sidewinder Pro)

Im getting sporadic erratic movements, and guns fire by themselves randomly. I don't have any problem when using mouse, but i would still prefer to use my joystick [:'(] I am not getting any weird readings from the Game Devices control panel, so i guess its something to do with the game.

Sys Specs
Athlon XP 1800
256 DDR
Direct X 9.0c
Win XP

Any help would be welcome

Saitek X-45 Hotas problems

I have this hardware and it often makes CTDs and even system freezes when pressing buttons too quickly [:'(].
I add that this doesn't happen on other games.
