Upgrading A6M2's to A6M3's

I've got a PBEM game going that started before the patches started to flow. Is it possible to do anything with these game files so that A6M2 squadrons will upgrade to A6M3? Right now they are waiting for A6M5's.

I was afraid that was the answer. Oh well, M2 to M3 isn't that much of an improvement.

anyone able to clarify? Is there any point to researching the A6M3? Or will I have to first reserach and then build enough A6M3 to cover the A6M2 (not upgrading), and then when the Zeke is available upgrade first to the A6M3 (waiting for them to become ready) and then turn around and upgrade to the Zeke? Or with the glitch is the A6M2 just not upgrading to the A6M3?

No point researching A6M3. As soon as factories autoconvert to A6M3 - stop them after you built 40 A6M3s (pool for apgrading A6M2 to A6M5).
