BBC World Service. Here is the news:
Today, Japanese forces have landed in Kuantan, on the East Coast of Indonesia. They were supported by very heavy naval and air bombardments. RAF bombers attempted unsuccessfully to interfere with the landings. Also Singapore was bombed again, only this time it was the harbor that was hit.
Associated Press reports that the air attacks on Clark field continue unabated. Today the allied mechanics have managed to put up a good number of advanced fighters to oppose the Japanese control of the air. The results however were not too optimistic.
The president has said that the US will not be defeated and that the war will be carried out until Japan unconditionally surrenders.

RE: Yamamoto's Wet Dream. A Spanish Affair Brigada vs kaleun

Well, things at war can only be tried once. The Royal Navy, seeing as the RAF was totally unable to hit anything or slow down the landings in Malaya, decided, against all better judgement to commit force Z again to interfere with the landings, in this they persisted despite the loss of a destroyer (Vampire) to an enemy submarine. The depleted force Z arrived at Kuantan, only to be surprised by a superior force, which included BB Kongo and Haruna. As a result of this, BC Repulse was sunk, and also lost were the light cruisers Danae and Mauritius. Kongo was significantly damaged and was detected withdrawing later in the day. As a result of this the Royal Navy is no longer expected to play much of a role in the defence of Singapore.
Kuantan fell into enemy hands, but losses were nil, since the base had cleverly been evacuated the night before.
Hong Kong also falls, as expected.
