Need Help Starting

Well the holidays allowed me to start playing BiN and I am wondering if there is a FAQ or assistance out there for some basic tips. I have started small with Bloody Omaha and can barely get slightly above a draw, although I think that I should have won that but I forgot a division that sat in reinforcements. I tried "Breakout" but could not capture Carentan, lost by hundreds of points.

It seems to me that the AI is very aggressive, and "cheats" - I keep losing my supply guys by leaving little gaps in the line and suddenly his infantry and armor is shooting through and killing my supply wagon and arty in the rear. Then I have to waste time hunting his units down and killing them. [:(]

I am trying to focus on terrain aspects, correct use of air interdiction, and use of the combat advisor, but I feel like I am missing something and the manual and tutorial could be more helpful for beginners. Any advice or links from you grognards? Is it "Attack Attack Attack" to win? Staying out of clear hexes? No holes in the lines?

Hi AnimalAI - we have on our site a few articles that are published to give you some idea of some strategies, though these are mostly on the beach landings at the moment. There are a few after action reports on our site (which details a games being played by experienced players), but at the moment our forums are down so they will be unavailable - check back tomorrow as i hope to have them up soon.

Thanks very much, I tried to get in your site today and was rebuffed. Almost thought it was me, good to know it was you (kinda).

To anyone else on this forum, would be great to see one of you experienced lads write a FAQ and sticky it up on the forum: "What To Do After You Read The Tutorial"

- recommend a beginning scenario with limitations on the AI
- recommend use of hotkeys
- recommend basic strategies
etc etc

I grew up on Panzer Leader/Panzer Blitz and Squad Leader, etc, so hopefully I will figure this one out.
