What do Set formation and Set all formations do?

These buttons are in the editor for Locations, but there is no dscription for them in the manual... what do they do?

They don't seem to do anything. One might guess from their names that they would set the current formation to match it's TOE or set all formations to match the current formation (or the current formation's Template TOE).

Does anyone know if Matrix is planning any maintenance on the Editor??

I found out Set Formation sets the TOE formations to their numbers, but the set all formations button seems ot be a place holder, or a last minute cut from the design.

I've never seen that actually work. Is there some trick I should know?

I picked a land unit that has a formation specified: Location 2345, which has formation 2088. Changed the first "device" to USMC Squad and the number of the last device (support) to 111. Then pressed "Set Formation". No result. Tried working from the Formation (2088) - pressed both Set Formation and Set All Formations, then checked Location 2345. No results - still had USMC Squad and 111 Support.

Ignorance is bliss, I said happily!
