My two cents

Post by madflava13 »

I just wanted to pipe up about a possible aspect of the game I've been thinking about. In the "Routine Convoy" phase (or its equivalent), I think the computer should handle the resupply of bases as it does in Pacwar. That is, the player insures the designated resupply bases (LA/India, whatever.) are stocked with escorts and merchies. The computer assigns them to TFs and runs the supply convoys. However, I think those convoys should be visible on the map,( and subject to attack). Instead of hypothetically finishing their runs in one turn as in Pacwar, any convoy going very far (Australia) should take a lot longer to get there and remain on the map. For instance, if the Japanese take New Caledonia (sp?) and base some Bettys there, the next convoy (and probably last) through the area is in for a big surprise. Unless of course sigint tips off the allies and they re-route. If this is workable, I think it would add tremendously to the game. You could then justify adding some serious escorts to the pool, such as crusiers and CVEs to counter threats from Jap deployments... Just a thought, feel free to comment. Also, as I have no programming experience (I'm the model end-of-the-line consumer) I don't know how feasible this all is... Let me know what you all think.
