Japanese ship refueling problems?

Post by Smiley_69 »

Hello all...

Been searching through the forums for an answer to my problem...I have about 9 destroyers who have been sitting in the Tokyo harbor for at least a week without being refueled. The harbor has a ton of gas, but none seem to make it to my destroyers.

Also in the same port is a carrier that lost a gun mount to a determined Dauntless over two weeks ago. She still has not been repaired.

Grand Scenario, January 42.

What gives?

You will have to refuel your DD's manualy, or they will refuel automatically when they leave port for an assigned mission.

For your CV: take care that a couple of DD moored, also some AR, and an naval HQ, a big repair yard, no other ships to repair, a lot of supplies (better over 20K) etc... will greatly speed up the process

If automatic refuel is on, they should refuel after the turn is over and there are enough ops. You don´t have them to refuel manually unless the automatic refuel is toggled off.

I have a DD in Tokyo that refuses to load depth charges. Quite annoying because this is my single best ASW DD with an ASW rating of 4.

From release notes for 1.4:
The “Refueling OK” option now allows task forces that auto-disband to refuel before hand.
Until now, the option only referred to arrival at the destination hex and not the home port. So,returning home, they did not refuel, before disbanding. Note that this auto-refueling before auto-disbanding will cause them to begin the next turn with some operations points expended

Have you tried disbanding them and reforming?
Or try disbanding and letting them sit in port one turn?
Or try another port?

Either way please let us know what happens?

Are they actually in a Tasf Force or disbaded in the harbor? Ships do not fuel or supply while disbanded, only when part of a TF. If they are part of a TF, they should take on fuel if they are idle for a turn, or you can order them to 'Replenish from Port' by clicking on it (right hand side of the TF screen). Ammo (like depth charges) might require manually ordering the TF to replenish from port. I know that to reload mines on ML's and DM's does require manually telling them to replenish from port (even if they already refueled on their own).

Thanks for ALL the help everyone! Once I formed up the TF and headed out, everyone was refueled OK. Also moved the Carrier to a port able to sustain repairs, and she is getting fixed up fine.

What a cool but very TIME CONSUMING game! Thanks again for all the help everyone!
