China Front: 0500 Hours 6/11/1941
We have once again been honerd by High Command to lead an assault against the Chinese. It is raining and the visability is limited to 150 yards. Once again it is going to be in the face type of battle. I will have to keep my armor and field pieces up close to the line as we advance.
We will jump off at 0500 hours in the north with the first and third company. This will give us the advantage of the dark as we advance forward to there lines. There first objective is located 1200 yards south of the map edge. The second objective is 500 yards south of there. Once the first is achieved they will swing south to the other one.
The second company is far to the south map edge. They are to advance on the southern objective, takeit then if still time will move nw to the rear objective. I do not expect them to encounter much resistence in the south.
My Engineers are out in front as we expect heavy mine fields to be present. I was able to get extra sections of Engineers from head quarters for this assault. We also have 3 sections of flame tanks to help.
Our big guns should be opening up on where we expect to run into the minefields any second. Once this bombardment starts the Engineers will begin to move forward. Hope our guns will take out some of the forward defenders before we reach them. This will allow the Engineers to work faster with no interuptions.
We are at full strength and all the troops are in good spirts. We have beat the Chinese twice before, this time should not be different.

China Front: 0525 Hours 6/11/1941
We have some forward units very near to the mine field in the north and south. Another 10 minutes and they will start to clear. Our big guns are not having much luck locating the enemy. Have moved there targets back away from the field so as not to have friendly fire land on our Engineers. It is tough going thru the heavy grass and the rain also it is still dark out. Maybe 50 yards is all we get every 5 minutes.
There are two roads on the map. I decided to use them to move our armor up to harrass the enemy. One is located almost dead center running east to west. The other is maybe 500 yards south of that. Both have bridges over the small river that runs from the north to the south. On the northern road i have sent 3 mine clearing tanks plus 4 sections of meduim tanks. They have reached the field in there sector and have started clearing a path for the tanks already. On the south road there is 2 plattoons of Engineers leading the way with two sections of tanks as back up. The first Engineers squad has reached the field and has begun to clear as well. I am hoping this will make the Chinese think my main attack will be there and pull troops away from the north and south action. One of the mine clearing fire breathing dragons has already come under fire from a squad of Chinese. Needless to say there was one big barbecue of very well done Chinese.

The Engineers have reached the mine fields and are hard at work. The very far north flank have 5 squads that have not found the fields as yet. There has been no enemy sighted in the south at all. And the north has seen no sight of the enemy either. There has been no enemy artty. falling down either. Thank heaven for that no interuption to our Engineers as they have a tough enough job. The two companies in the north and the one in the south have no tank support. There job will be a ground troop only operation. They do have some ATGs and infantry guns as support. I have had them fix bayonets already in preperation for the assault.
The flame tanks on the north road have opened up a fifty yard wide path thru the mines. They are moving thru the gap already and have made maybe 50 yards past it. They are running into stiff oppositon as they move forward. They have already burnt up at least four squads of the enemy. Dam it really stinks out there already. There support tanks are bunched up trying to get thru the gap. I have to get them spread out as quick as i can. They have been under a very heavy bombardment for the last 20 minutes. We have already lost one tank to it. It seems as if the Chinese have every gun in there arsenal concentrated on them.
The section of Engineers on the road south of there have also broke thru the mines. They and there support of 2 sections of light tanks have met no resistence at all. This road runs all the way west to the 2 rear objectives. There primary orders are to sneak thru and capture those 2 rear VH. With any luck and the tanks on the north drawing all the attention they just might make it.
Im sure as soon as the enemy discovers the two companies in the north they will have to do some thing about them. I know they must think our main push is on that north road what with all the tanks i have there.

China Front: 0610 Hours 6/11/1941
We are starting to see a little better what with day light getting near. Not as dark out as before although visability is still limited to 150 yards. Lots of thick grass and bush growing in this awful country. Im already covered with sweat and stains in my new uniform. This is without me really doing much. Have to be on our toes now this is when it gets gritty.
The flame tanks and there support are really into right now. Chinese are popping up all over the place. Had one of the flame tanks assaulted and burnt few minutes ago. The other tanks opened up on the 2 squads and cut them to ribbons. Ive told them to hold where they are and to stop anything trying to get down the road.
The south road has run into maybe a plattoon. Not much resistence put up by them but has slowed there advance. Have one squad of Engineers on the north side of road and other on south side. Lead tank on road with other two placed same as Engineers backed up by 3 more tanks with same formation.
Second company in the south has broken thru the mine field and are advancing with no opposition so far. Those guys from the Engineers did a great job gettin thru the mine fields so quick. Will have them spread out in a company line and moving as quick as they can. They are about 500 yards from there objective. Once it is takin will swing them NW to maybe hook up with the bunch on the south road. They can use some help real bad as they move to the rear objectives.
All the troops on the north flank are into the mines but have not broken thru as yet. They had the longest way to go. Are a little behind the schedule some what. Was hoping they might divert some of the pressure off the north road group.
Have been laying a heavy bombardment with 81,150 mortar and 75mm fire just ahead of the tanks on the north road. Also firing the on call artty about 400 yards in front of them as well. Keeping my fingers crossed none of it falls short. Even with the delays so far it is moving well I think. Little too much time has been taken with the north flank. We shall see im sure if my plan brings us a decisive victory are not.
May the Rising Sun shine down on us with its favor. For the glory of our Emperor and Japan.

PS: Had to behead Sgt. Shinome for refusing to hold his position. Cant let our troops see any one run from the enemy. Will write his family explaining how he died fighting bravely today. Will also cremate and send his ashes home. I had my doubts about him from the start. He liked to smell the flowers too dam much.

Second company in the south have taken the first VH of there objective. Not much in the way of opposition until they reached there. They have run into 2 companys that were at the bottom of a small hill. Also ran into 2 tanks one taken out by an Engineer squad the other by an ATG. Have moved 2 plattoons up to with in 100 yards of the entrenchments. Started to swing around to there left flank when we found the second company of fox holes. Have started the third plattoon around there right flank to try and envelope them. Hope we dont find another company sitting there. The men have fixed bayonets for the assault. The squads that have the knee mortar in them are having the most success. That little mortar with its 150 yard range is great for direct fire on a squad. Have had them take out a tank at times.
The north road is starting to move also. They have maybe 150 yards to there objective. Has been a tough fight for them so far. Have lost 2 of the flame and 3 tanks from direct assault of ground troops. These Chinese dont seem to have any fear of tanks at all. They have been under constant attacks from both sides of the road. Thank goodness they dont have any ATR with them.
The south road has moved deeper into enemy territory with out a lot of trouble. They have had slight resistence to face so far. Have lost 3 men from the lead Engineer squad so far no loss of tanks. Still it will be some time before they reach the rear objectives.
The north flank has been facing a tough and determined enemy. They still have at least 300 yards to reach there objectives. The left flank has run into 2 fortified bunkers containing MMGs. These are right in front of the VH. Sent infantry in a frontal assault and Engineers in a flanking move. Had 2 ATG firing on them to keep there heads down. They hit it several times with no apparent damage. All of a sudden saw a squad of Engineers rush up alongside and place a satchel charge on the north bunker. BAM logs and sand with body parts flew all over the place. Now to do the same with the other one. Once this one has been delt with should be clear sailing to the objective. Have only seen the 2 tanks in the south. Im sure they are going to show up soon.

The 2nd company in the south have taken the VH. They are now moving NW in an effort to link up with the south road gang. Then they will begin the push to the 2 rear objectives. It will take them a long time and may not get there in time. Close to 1800 yards to move thru hostile territory.
The south road is moving well. Very little next to no resistence from the enemy. Any they have come up against have been vanquished. Have lost two tanks from some very desperate assaults by the little Chinese sneaks.
The north road have taken 3 of the VH they were assigned to capture. Have lost 2 of the 3 flame tanks and 4 of the meduim tanks. The going was rough they have been under almost constant bombardment by 76.2 guns and assaults by ground troops. The enemy does not seem to mind losing lots of troops. They send them in like human waves to attack our tanks. Movement is slow as i have no infantry to lead there advance. I expected heavy losses any ways. They were more of a diversion for the main assault in the north. They have actually done a hell of a lot better then I expected.
The 2 companys in the north have not taken there objective as yet. Have taken out one bunker and was moving on the second one. Had sent Engineers to the right flank to get in the rear of it. Then sent troops in a frontal assault and also to the left flank. The left flank ran into another bunker and had to deal with it before getting the one in the center. In a simultaneos assault by the foot sloggers and Engineers. Both bunkers were blown to bits and pieces. Have now reached to with in 200 yards of the VH. Should have all the front VH in our hands with in the next 15 minutes.
All in all this battle has raged for 2 hours now. Our losses are light in comparison to what we have delt to the enemy. I believe this is going to turn out as one of our best triumphs.
For the glory of the Emporer and Japan. Banzai Banzai Banzai
PS: This is our third assault against a tough and determined dug in enemy. I would like to compliment our highly skilled and eficient Engineers. With out them we would have not done as well as we have. I believe they deserve our highest award for duty above and beyond there normal call.

RE: Japan makes another assault Vs Nation
China Front: 0740 Hours 6/11/1941
The battle has ended the enemy has routed from the field. The tanks on the north road and the south road reached and have taken the rear objectives. They lost 7 tanks which included 2 flame tanks on there struggle to reach the rear VHs. They also managed to take out 6 of the enemy tanks on there way to victory. The north force took on 5 bunkers and two field pieces just in front of the VH maybe 200 yards out. The flame tank roasted the field pieces while the tanks took out the bunkers. Lost a tank there before they found the field piece.
Second company in the south were just about to assault 3 bunkers when the fight went out of the Chinese.
First and third company in the north were basicly on a hunt and destroy mission. Rooting out short squads of the enemy and sending them to the great beyond. Had bypassed a lot of there troops in our mad dash to the VH. So went back towards there mine field and caught quite a few troops inbetween a rock and a hard place. We lost some men but this is expected in war. At last count 122 men of ours lost there life today. But the enemy lost 1349 men at last count. All in all a very good day for our side.
Our men showed great courage in our third assault in as many battles. They are showing there bravery and willingness to move ahead at great risk to them. We are ready for our next assignment no matter where it takes us or who we have to meet. I will put these men up against any army in the world.
We have been ordered back to Japan for rest and recuperation. Will be great to have some time off to spend with our friends and relatives. I have been ordered to go to Tokyo and meet the high brass. To be brieved on our next campaign. It will be great to see Tokyo again and get to see the beautiful Geisha they have there.
Understand we are to get the new 89 mortars in replacement of our old 10s. This will make the men happy im sure. Will be able to get some distance out of the new ones.
