Game freeze bug on op. Highland

As a grand admiral, when I am flying the Stalwart, when I right click over the gerson (like to open the menu so to give an order or request the launch of a probe), the game freezes and even windows freezes.[:(][&:][:'(]
Not even a cold boot kills it! I need to unplug the computer from the electricity socket!!![:@]

HP Pavillion
2,8 GHZ
150 Gb HD
512 RAM
128 vid card

Please look into this as it happens all of the time.

hmm what's your CPU Temperature?
What kind of Mobo do you got?
Is this rig overclocked?

I have an HP Pavillion
2,8 GHZ
512 RAM
160 GB HD
ATI RADEON 9200
There is an Asus Mobo but I don't know wich one is it.
It is not overcloaked and it has less than a year so can't toutch those things yet .

Game keeps freezing sometime or other in the game, specially when I jump to other systems to look for more enemy ships.
This bug happens everyday but it didn't when I was younger in Rank. Could it be related to that pilot "reboot" bug I've posted earlier?
Other I am trying a different joystick. I suspect some of my CTDs happen because of my Saitek X-45 Notas (USB) - wich works perfectly fine on any other game.
I will try my older CH Virtual Pilot Pro, wich is more "airliner type", les cocky but perhaps more stable.
I will post a new thread in the support forum if I don't have anymore CTDs with the old joystick port joystick.

It is not a joystick issue. It is a game problem. I have selected other Capitals and went to other systems and got a game freeze too.
On some occasions it suffices to right click over a ship and boom! Freeze and only a cold boot/unplugging can get me away from it.
Please dbug this ...

This bug continues to happen, specially when I pursue or go search for enemy ships in different sectors than the one the fleet is in the campaign.
All this has started when the game deleted my pilot (I was grand Admiral).
I have reached Grand Admiral again, some time ago and I suggest rank could have something to do with it too.
Also, when I right click over a friendly ship or my own, the game freezes.
This happens all the time and a new install hasn't solved it.
So the temporary solution I have found is to destroy a few of the enemy ships wich are not in the campaign's sector and jump back to the system where I was playing in with campaign, exist game if no enemy ships are present and save the game.
Then I quit SS and resume where I was.
This is very time consuming on already long Capital ship missions. Yet this has reduced the number of game freezes.

When the fleet moves to the Kaithal sector in the Renser system, on op Highland, when I jump to Lornas sector and after I start engaging enemy ships there, game freezes again [:@], all the time.[:@][:'(]

Ok, in the inability to take what is left of Task force 43 in the Lornas system, I had to wait on Khaital, untill the dynamic campaign brought the enemy to me, wich happened on day 18.
I still have game freezings when I right click any of my capital ships and some of the enemies.
Game still freezes at some point of the game during combat. I have no idea how I will finish this campaign, even if I have already finished it several times before.
All these bugs started to happen when the game resetted my logbook, taking me back to cadet or so, taking rank and all the medals away from me.
I can post here my logbook or send it to one of the techs if necessary.
Is anybody else having this problem?
