Runners

Matrix Games and Simulations Canada combine and completely remake two classic NATO vs. Warsaw Pact wargames into a new classic. Based on the original wargames “Main Battle Tank: North Germany” and “Main Battle Tank: Central Germany”, Flashpoint Germany is a new grand tactical wargame of modern combat. Every aspect of modern grand tactical warfare is included, from advanced armor, air and helicopters to chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Step into the most dangerous war.. . that never was.

Runners

Post by sabre100 »

Can someone explain to me what the Total Estimated Runners / % of starting line strength is/means?

See screenshot from one of the AAR posts upfiles/11973/Om331816083.jpg

What is the highest possible number for Estimated Runners and what is that based on / calculated?

Thanks so much

Sabre100,

Here's a small excerpt from the game manual which should explain things:

"This report shows a chart with distribution of runners
and total VPs in the game similar to that of the Staff
Summary in the main program. A “runner” is a
subunit that is sufficiently mission capable to be an
asset in combat. Subunits that are destroyed,
unable to fire due to damage, immobilized, out of
ammunition, unable to receive orders, or whose
crews have lost the will to fight are not runners."

Erik -

Sorry forgot to ask from all the 17 scenarios included what is the maximum amount of runners?

For example
Scen 1 = 100 Runners Nato 100 Runners Warsaw
Scen 2 = 50 Runners Nato 50 Runners Warsaw

If anybody has this info and would post it that would be excellent.

Thanks so much

Just to expand at bit; at least one of the scenarios has a mix of nationalities. There is one where you have some West German and US forces facing down the PACT forces.
