Scenario Names and Scenario Editor

Matrix Games and Simulations Canada combine and completely remake two classic NATO vs. Warsaw Pact wargames into a new classic. Based on the original wargames “Main Battle Tank: North Germany” and “Main Battle Tank: Central Germany”, Flashpoint Germany is a new grand tactical wargame of modern combat. Every aspect of modern grand tactical warfare is included, from advanced armor, air and helicopters to chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Step into the most dangerous war.. . that never was.

Scenario Names and Scenario Editor

Post by sabre100 »

Can you guys post the names of the 17 scenarios included with the game? I noticed one of the screenshots on the website had a few names but not all. Thanks in advance.

Another fine game from Matrix!

Is there a campaign option?
Sorry, I am a WITP details type guy. I am not into the short scenarios.[:'(]

No campaign, but the scenarios each follow on a hypothetical historical timeline. If you want a big scenario, I would suggest "Soviet Main Force Attack".

Please also note that it comes with a scenario editor, including what is basically a "Quick Battle Generator" so the replay value is significant, considering the equipment database has a pretty good spread of forces from various armies and decades. I'll include a few screenshots from that in the next few posts.

Quick Battle Generator??? [:D] You just sold me on this! While I love my WITP, I also like "lighter" games. And the idea of being able to "roll up" a scenario is very nice.

Question: Does the generator provide the option to keep the composition of the AI player's forces a secret? This would be very cool and much appreciated.

No, but we could look into adding this after release. Keep in mind that although you may deploy the forces, you don't know what the AI is going to do with them and with full fog of war going, FPG can be full of surprises. [8D]

Thanks for your interest.

Game/Editor Questions;

1. Forces - can you model small forces (company/platoon/squad) level?

2. Scenarion Length (10 - 14) hours?? Is this the max lenght?

3. Ability to have reinforcements arrive during a battle?

4. Game support day/night combat?

1. Forces - can you model small forces (company/platoon/squad) level?

Yes, in the full editor you have control over what's in each unit, but the intended scale is each unit = 1 platoon. You can have a unit be a single tank or mech inf squad though, if you want.
2. Scenarion Length (10 - 14) hours?? Is this the max lenght?

Yes and generally most scenarios don't need anywhere that long once the engagement starts. Modern war is more lethal and quick, in general, than past conflicts.
3. Ability to have reinforcements arrive during a battle?

Absolutely.
4. Game support day/night combat?

Yes, and chemical, smoke, tactical nukes, artillery-deployed minelets, MLRS systems, thermal sights, chobham armor, etc. etc. [8D] Everything you'd expect in a NATO vs. Warsaw Pact game.
