pdf Manual etc

I always used to love big manuals, EFII is a great example. I still thumb through it occasionally - something like 200 pages.
For a game like EFII which I have been playing off and on for 6 years I would happily pay 20 quid extra for a manual like that alone.
And happily add another 100 quid for the game if need be - a bargain if you are still playing after 6 years. (I don't think I will
ever stop playing the Campaign Series)

Now we are in the digital download age I can understand the lack of a manual, with taxes I paid less than 20 quid for this game! (a bargain - buy it) One thing I have a problem with is printing the downloaded pdf. I like to send the manual to work to print it out yet at over 6 meg the email police would be on my back quicker than (something rude that moves very quickly indeed, possibly some part of a foreign lady of the nights evening attire)

To get around this I would like to cut and paste a text only version of the manual to put into a .doc format to send to work by email.
Is this possible? I can do Edit/Select All - then past into word but I only end up with one page of the pdf. Please let me know if there is
any way of cutting and pasting all the text from a pdf in one go (preferably by tomorrow morning as the weekend is looming .

If not could game makers include a printer/email friendly version of the manual?

The only place to read a manual is on the bog in the bath on the bus or in bed - do they think we read them at the PC (unless at work)?

The game does seem very good although I think they really need to change the background, all the little flecks of white, grey, green and brown in different hues is very grating to the eye. Is that modable?

Please add some of the suggestions posted in previous threads to the next game and I would happily part with more cash next time.

PDF is absolutly print and email friendly. A Word ducment would actually be bigger since PDF "compresses" better, even if it´s a high resolution "Press" version of the PDF.

One question, will this be free to those of us who have, or will have bought the game? The reason I ask is because I'm under 18, so it's a hassle to get a credit card all the time since I don't have my own. My parent's aren't crazy about online dealings, so its a special event when it happens. [:D]

Thanks Marc, but could you tell me exactly how I can copy text from a PDF in one go?
What I'm after is the text only - no pictures (this also makes it less obvious what I am reading at work

(In case any of my managers are reading this I should say - as they know - I'm too busy to actually read stuff at work at the moment - but I could print the text to read on the bus on my way home)

I live in the UK - I assume this will not be available to me?

I think the last deal Matrix did with printers was only available in the USA. You must have quite a few overseas customers as well I assume?

I finally figured how to copy from a pdf (Continuous page) So I had my bathroom reading and am now on battle 3 of the campaign. A very good game.

I second that, I'm so hooked on it that I am already on India. But dang... Gaugamela was TOUGH. The elephants weren't bad using Alexander to take them down (400-0 attacks against them were not uncommon with him), and if you surround them with hoplites/phalangites they are fairly easy... its the cavalry they completely rip apart.

India seems tough though, I haven't had a chance to take a real solid crack at it but I can just tell. One or two elephants I can deal with, but anymore and I get worried.

Either way, I find it incredibly fun going back and replaying levels I have already beaten. You guys are the best! Good job on such a fine game! [&o]
