New to the forum

I just thought I'd post a hello to all the WIFers out there. I've been an avid wargamer (miniature and board) for quite a few years, but one of the few games I always came back to was WIF (along with Up Front- now quite dog-eared and dirty). I've played WIF off and on for many years.

Due to time and space constraints, I've had my WIF boxes (and they are many) sitting on the shelf for quite a while. A few years ago, I got hold of cWIF beta and loved it. I was initially saddened that its development was halted, as Chris had done a marvelous job to that point. Now that I know matrix games has taken up the gauntlet, I feel better, as I enjoyed what they did with Steel Panthers. Is there anywhere I can get the newest beta ? Or is it closed ? Any help would be appreciated.

You have come to this Forum at a good time. Mastrix World in Flames (MWiF) was on hold waiting the completion of Flashpoint Germany which went gold this last week. I imagine this Forum will start hotting up now but IMHO Beta testing is a looooooong way in the future.

Thanks for the greetings. It does seem that board wargamers are far and few between these days, something even I am guilty of (darn computers !). If I can only win the lottery or something........

I'll check in from time to time to see what's going on, depending on my unfortunately hectic work schedule. Again, I'm stoked that CWIF is a go again....
