Screenshots

Post by leehunt27@bloomberg.net »

I've searched through Windows help, asked friends, but I can't figure out how to take a screenshot and save it, e-mail it, print it, whatever. Can anybody help?

It's useful for analyzing your WiR situations. Thanks, as I said I've tried looking elsewhere but figure somebody here might know. Plus I'd like to see other people shots of key weeks in their WiR campaigns....

i have the same problem, and there are 2 ways around it:

1) i cut and pasted old posts:

Please see my prior posts on using DOSBOX, a dos emulator. It includes ega bios level font and graphics
support, and also maximizes dos conventional memory (useful in WinXP). It allows WIR to be played inside
a window or full screen. Download current version here:

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1

There is a learning curve; please read instructions (really very simple vs. the learning curve for WIR). It is the only
way WIR (or PACWAR) can be played on many modern laptops.

Speaking of dosbox...

IMHO a very helpful tool in order to bypass the learning curve for dosbox is: D-Fend.

Check it out!

2) and the way i use, download WiR Assistant @

http://warinrussia.daves-universe.com/down/down.html

and you can take regular windows screen shots. i then use paint and attach all the screens together to make 1 big map with all the units. to make a map with the just the front line units you need a blank map, then you can cut out the front line in paint and paste it on top. a fair amount of work, but worth it!

Hi all!
I made me a detailed map using a WIR 3.3 screenshot... Handy for a general overview.
I thought I'd share it.
I added Petrozavodsk and Astrakhan, only for reference though as these cities play no part.

Thanks FL!
As you'll have noticed I made the distinction between industrial cities (in red) and others, and marked the oil production cities...
Those objectives aye [:D]

I'll email a copy to Dave.

My latest 'project', the Possum map with geographical info, for printout or pc wallpaper is making progress...
Does anyone have a complete listing of location and names of the unnamed minor cities? I've managed to locate many of them, but among the ones that might raise some doubt are the two on this outtake...

Here's the Possum map with geographical details... It's not yet complete but I thought I post this one already...
There won't be much time for me to work on it as in 6 weeks I'll be moving house... to be more precise: "moving continent"[:D]
