vids:IV32 decompressor ?

Post by Hertston »

Not the end of the world as all it seems to affect is the opening video, but all I get is a white box criss-crossed with black and the message "video not available, cannot find vids:IV32 compressor".

Is there a fix ? I had a quick search, but all the replies seem to relate to Windows 95 or Windows 98 installations. It seems to relate to compression for AVI movies; can someone tell this non-nerd how to restore the necessary files in XP ?

Thanks.

EDIT:

Fixed; I'll leave this here in case anyone else has the same problem. I just downloaded the codec ( ir32_32.dll ) and dumped it in the Windows/System 32 directory and it works, so messing with the registry wasn't necessary after all.

In case anyone does have the same problem... (I don't [8D]) How about a link to save people the trouble of looking it up for themselves.

I've tried using the color function before, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work on text in a link. [&:]

It should, but you have to get your nesting right. Make the link, then put the colour tags inside the link tags. Believe that works.
