Any chance you will be able to buy online and download? Pretty much the heading.

It would be great to just download, plus seems it would save you guys some money with CD's etc. Maybe a PDF download for manual.

Mr. Heath has stated that this will not happen in another thread. Internet site costs increase non-linearly when large numbers of downloads are undertaken.

Now that I've thought about it a bit, this has me somewhat confused. I mean SPWaW is available for free as a download, its rather large(400 MB,) I doubt that UV would be larger.

Also given 44.95, plus shipping, It seems we should get a printed manual at that price.

We will not be selling our new games via download, it is just not a reliable enough delievery method (as our experiance with the tiny Firefight download can attest...)

If people have problems downloadnig a free game, well, its free...

We are investigating what including a B&W manual would cost - but no decisions have been made

I understand, just a curiosity thing with the download.

If your interested, I've looked into printing costs myself. I've had artwork reproduced in the past so I'm familiar with certain aspects of printing costs, but out of idle curiosity I looked into the cost of doing a printed manual.

Anyway assuming the following;
200 pages B&W
printed both sides on 20# pound paper
bound paperback style
5.5 inches by 8.5
Camera ready proof(can be done with any decent laser printer)

cost would be 3.08(US) per manual @ 1000 units

Of course it gets cheaper at higher quantities and does not include the freight from the printers location to yours, although this would be a negligible cost per unit.
