Windows SP2 behind MP problems?

Post by Diabolico »

Could it be that Windows SP2 is behind my and somepeople's MP problems?
I could join easily while on SP1.
My current settings for playing SS are the same as before :
1) Firewall off;
2) SP2 firewall and antivirus off;
3) XP family security level - low.

This MP issue is becoming a hassle.
They should work out something like Battle HQ or Hyperlobby - or any other cheap battle client.

It is confirmed that it is not an SP2 issue.
I have logged in to Euroserver's admin area which prooves that it's indeed online and working well.
It ahs to be something related with the ingame broker.

sort of a related subject... I have Win2K Pro and had to install Service Pack 4 yesterday ..now I have Audio issues. I can only play StarShatter for a few minutes before the sound cuts completely out.. Noticed it was doing it with an avi. file as well after a few minutes of running. Please take into account I was not having any audio issues until I let Macro-Crap [;)] up-date its self.

Well I just tried up-dating my audio drivers ..even though they are still from 2002 ..(crosses fingers) hopfully it will work now.
