Pre Game setup bug

Post by John21b »

I created a Head to Head game. Did the WG setup. Moved on to the WP pre-game setup, it would not let me change doctrine. I saved the game and reloaded to make sure that if I submitted to support that the problem was still there. Now it flashes a box saying WP preset up, however it goes back to WG set up. When you advance to WP the WG set up box stays, the WP units never show up and the WG units disapears. The status line on the bottom says WP pre-setup. Saved game attached.

A few questions:

1. How did you create this game. Is this the scenario listed? or did you modify it?

2. Although this file seems funny, I can't reproduce this problem if I use the soviet punch scenario and set up head to head game here. The problem will be somewhere before you saved... so if possible, the steps from the very beginning. Go through and do it again with a new file please, and write down the steps so we can reproduce it.

Thanks

Reinstalled game same result. All head to head games don't allow the WP (usually once it was the WG in a different scenario) to do doctrine changes. These all all with scenario's that come with the game, unmodified.

Options in effect:
Allow Hotkey L line of sight
Allow Hotkey M
No browsing of enemy
Show way points during move
Show transmissions during planning and movement phases

Realism options in effect:
No auto spotting
Yes Individual units must spot before firing
No auto resupply
No editable doctrine during play
Low EW
Variable weather

Attached is another save immediately after NATO setup

Got it! Thanks John21b.

edit:

When choosing a Head to Head game, whichever side is still selected (Nato or WP) as if you were playing against the AI or PBEM that side can edit doctrine while in setup. The other side cannot.

Thus:

If you leave player options at Nato and choose head to head, WP cannot edit doctrine in setup. If you have player option set to WP, the Nato player cannot edit doctrine at setup.

This has been noted and placed in the list.

Thanks! I'll just play against the AI until then.
